The /mæn-ʌs/ Zine

Coming soon: Volume I, Issue 1 of /mæn-ʌs/! It’s planned to be a quarterly zine, published by Menas Gallery Chicago. The focus will be on Chicago art, artists, and art history, but we reserve the right to indulge ourselves as wanted or needed.

Image is of the /mæn-ʌs/ Zine Issue 1 Cover. It has the title of the zine, the subtitle which reads "A Chicago Art Zine," a list f words that President Trump's administration requested that federal agencies not utilize.

This is the first issue, so pretty simple. Jeff Koons as Chicago art history. Seven art galleries to visit now. Some collages by Tim Reardon. A haiku gallery show review. A print reproduction from Tom Billings. Hopefully poetry, some drawings, we’ll see what else shows up. 12-16 pages maybe, black and white.

We’ll be looking for submissions for upcoming issues, so if you’re a Chicago artist (or know one) or have a demonstrated connection to the City and its surrounding areas, send your artwork, art criticism, artist statement, art history, poetry, or any other art-related creation, along with a short bio, to menasgallerychicago@gmail.com. Please understand that not all submissions will be used and/or responded to. In addition, as this is a photocopied zine, please send work that is simple and high contrast, in order to appear at its best.
